The Furniture Technology
Centre and Wood (CTM) will receive a grant for the design and manufacture of
organic furniture within the European project `Ecomovel ', which also involved
institutions in France, Croatia, Portugal, Greece and
Italy.
The Governing Council has
approved a grant of the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, through
the Regional Development Agency (INFO) Furniture Technology Center and Wood
(CETEM) for the design and manufacture of organic furniture within the Ecomovel
`European project '. According to the online journal Economics Murcia,
the subsidy amounts to about 15,000 euros.
This project, which also involves institutions in France, Croatia, Portugal, Greece and Italy, aims to promote eco-design (Ecodesign) in the furniture industry and wood. Through this initiative aims to raise awareness among companies about the added value of ecological furniture, as well as the importance of business innovation to reduce production costs and improved environmental impact.
Companies will have free access to the catalog of existing materials where stress CETEM those whose qualities allow the fabrication of organic products, which will improve the competitiveness of companies and optimize marketing.
In addition, through these funds, there will be various pilot projects coordinated between the producers, the designers of these organic products and Furniture Technology Centre itself and Wood, who may choose to be among the five projects that will participate in Spanish Ecomovel `project '.
CTM will complete the project by editing an illustrated guide to the best use of these materials in the manufacture of furniture.
